Jesse and I are on the same page here. And that page is one of many in an essay entitled, “Fishing Sucks.” I don’t know about you guys, but I find this to be the absolute worst part of the game. Now, Originally I found the ‘idea’ of fishing in WoW to be really kind of cool. But in practice it’s just… well… it’s boring. It’s not only boring, but it is time consuming. I could understand if fishing employed a mini-game aspect of reeling in the fish and hitting some specific buttons at the right time to make it engaging, but this is where Blizzard ultimately did not hit the mark. The experience of fishing is to stand and click your Mouse over and over and over again. Sure, you get MATS for cooking, or MATS to sell on the AH, but why doesn’t this fishing feel as engaging as herbalism or mining?
I know that some of you find fishing very relaxing, and you sit on your sofa and watch re-runs of Big Bang Therory while you stock up on Deepsea Sagefish. Some have told me they find the process soothing. To those of you, I say, you are a blessed few amongst a sea of the tormented.
If you disagree, let me know.
