WoW meets the PortoPotty?

Call it incredible ingenuity, Call it going off the deep end, whatever you want to call it… the WoW Pod is here. Billed as, “… an immersive architectural solution for the advanced WOW (World of Warcraft) player that provides and anticipates all life needs.”  Basically this is a little hidey hole that is part effective ergonomically engineered station for play, close at hand food dispenser, and … um…. toilet.

The WoWpod provides a cool Throne with lots of legroom to sit and play, while working on a slide out keyboard and mouse tray and viewing the game on a wall mounted monitor. The outside of it has a ORC like structure and design. It’s kind of cute at first glance. Then things go a little weird. There is a built in Hot Plate inside for the player who wants to cook up… I don’t know… ramen or a batch of scrambled eggs. There is even a spice rack on the wall to hold spices. So, that’s a little overboard. I can see having a drink cooler by your workstation for easy thirst quenching while gaming, but do I really need  a hot plate near by? The real weird one, is the built in toilet in the ‘throne’. Yes, that seat is not just a place to camp your butt for a few hours, it’s also a place to… you know.

Anyway, as a new player, this might seem extreme to you, and it may frighten you. However, I think there is an obvious amount of fun being poked at the HARDCORE Raiders out there. So, if you really think that the makers of this are a bunch of MIT weirdos, think again. Cati Vaucelle is one of designers of the WoWoPod, and she has quite an interesting little website. Check it out.
